Environmentally friendly products have always been in the minds and hearts of Mad Cow.  We wanted a product that is not harmful to make or whenever it comes in contact with skin, pets, etc.  Some cleaners are primarily chemicals that can hurt the environment.  Each product is made with care, keeping your safety our number one priority.  It is important to note that these products contain seed oils, which will be an issue if it comes into contact with someone who has this allergy.

We use beeswax, seed Oils, and naturally occurring lipids in both our leather dressing and our leather cream.  But what does this mean?  We use beeswax because it puts a layer of protection on whatever it is used on, without leaving a sticky residue.  Beeswax does well to allow moisture to enter and effectively moisturize the leather.  Seed oils are great because they are all-natural, and they will quickly soak into the leather they are placed on.  According to MSU’s William Reusch, naturally occurring lipids do a good job when it comes to lowering the tension of water on the surface.  This means it offers a waterproofing property to these products. Both the cream and the dressings are made to protect and moisturize your leather items.

Fun fact: Did you know that bees must consume a total of 6-8 pounds of honey to produce just one pound of beeswax? That makes beeswax a pretty valuable product!

The leather spot cleaner comprises plant-derived cleaning agents, mineral-based PH enhancers, and tea tree oil extract.  Tea tree oil has a powerful antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that makes it a safer cleaner.  To echo our desire and mission of being environmentally conscious, we use cleaning agents derived from plants.  This makes it possible to keep chemicals out of your cleaning process.  The spot cleaner will be gentle on any leather and leave no residue.

Our Waterproofing spray uses carnauba wax dispersion. Carnauba wax not only protects against water but leaves a beautiful shine. The waterproofing spray is good for non-leather items like backpacks, shoes, and hats.  The ingredients make the protection long-lasting and are easy to apply with our spray bottle.

Many leather cleaning products may “clean” the leather, but the harsh chemicals ultimately destroy your leather items.  Some also have alcohol contents in the cleaners, which can dry out leather making it peel and crack over time.  No one wants that.  Leather is a natural product, so why not use a natural cleaner?
